Carl Larsson

Born in 1853, Carl Larsson was a Swedish painter who was known for his watercolor pieces depicting tranquil, domestic life through the seasons of Sweden.

A traditional artist, this book responds to Larsson's work in a conceptual manner, collecting colors from four paintings and binding them into individual books that make a whole. Each book is placed sequentially in the order of the seasons, and is enclosed in an acrylic cover. The transparent, glass-like material represents the idea of freezing something in time, often done with pieces of nature such as flowers or in this
case - seasons.
