Universal Maximalism
These posters test the idea of maximalism in everyday design. Drawing inspiration from nationally approved universal symbols, this series explores the possibilities of producing a sign that communicates various feelings associated with the actions and situations that universal symbols convey.
This concept developed into a case by case study, in which I collected various situations that people could fine themselves exiting from. By posting a poll on instagram, the context of these situations changed, and became reminiscent of the platform's rampant meme culture. This resulted in situation-specific posters that were then posted back on instagram as a payoff to those who contributed.
